The 'Burg's freefall Theatre, at 6099 Central, garnered important props from the Broadway World Florida Awards, 2011. The theatre won the award for Best Professional Theater Company. Artistic Director Eric Davis won Best Director for his take on Shakespear's A Midsummer Night's Dream, which opened to gushing reviews from Creative Loafing's Mark E. Leib: "...freeFall’s Dream is a splendidly accomplished work, postmodern in sensibility, acted to the hilt... and designed so vividly, you have to worry for the theater’s budget."

PSA: More than Just a Clinic, More than Just Free
The St. Petersburg Free Clinic, established to "provide temporary assistance to those requiring help with basic needs such as food, shelter, medical care, limited financial assistance, and referral information," is often a place of last resort for people who've fallen through the cracks. 'Burger Steve Urgo toured the facility and was quick to tell us about it:"This wonderful organization provides much-needed services to the homeless and others who fall through the cracks in the system. They provide free medical services, a food bank, a woman's and men's shelter, and other social services to get people back to work and independent," he said.
They can always use volunteers, and are always in need of donations, whether in the form of money or goods, such as non-perishable food, copy paper, paper bags or items for personal hygiene. Their Donate page tells you how.
