Wondering what's coming--and who's coming up--in the Burg? Joe knows. Check out his suggestions, here.
Downtown Digital
This Saturday, June 2nd Jannus Live hosts the "Freshest Party in Florida," their first annual Downtown Digital Festival in the heart of St. Pete. The festival’s vision is “to unite music lovers of all electronic genres for a whole day and night of carefree vibes and massive beats.” Some of the featured artists include LadyTron (DJ Set), Mustard Pimp, Boombox and Amtrac. Doors are at 12pm, and tickets are $28.
The Supervillains are a ska/reggae band with a rocking horn section that always seems to be going to or coming from the beach. From St. Cloud, florida  they are no stranger to the heat. This is the perfect concert to attend after a long day of laying in the sand. See them at Jannus Live Friday, June 8th, at 8pm, for a very reasonable $5.

Bouncing Souls
The Bouncing Souls pride themselves on their D.I.Y. ethic and dedication to punk music. After 20 years, the band still releases records regularly and has done so with little or no help. They practically live on the road and work hard for their fans. See the souls at the State Theater, 7pm June 15th. Doors at 7pm. Tickets are $16.50

Applebutter Express at Bonaroo (& the Blueberry Patch or Three Birds)
Shannon and Kyle Biss make up the Applebutter Express whose down home ukulele funk is most likely the purest Floridian music you’ll hear this side of Lake Okeechobee. In their song Handguns and Hammocks they sing about gator hunting with peppermint schnapps and smoking cigarettes on the Myakka River. It’s the perfect music to grab a rum runner and relax to.

See the Applebutter Express at the Blueberry Patch June 22nd, at 8pm, and Three Birds Tavern,  on June 30 at 8pm.

Plus, if you feel like a drive to Tennessee for Bonaroo, they're taking the Solar Stage June 7th between 2 and 3pm. Represent! Kudos to their achievement.
